Insurance Help

We understand insurance is complicated, so we try to help patients by billing private insurance, including Medicare and Medicaid, for treatment and services we provide automatically, and by deducting payments we receive from them and applying negotiated discounts before sending patient bills. We also bill auto insurance companies covering charges for injuries due to auto accidents.

Different plans have different coverage levels and co-pays, deductibles and co-insurance that patients are responsible for. It is also important to understand that services may be provided in the hospital by the facility as well as by other health care practitioners who may separately bill the patient. If you have questions about what your plan covers, contact your insurance company.

If you have questions about how your insurance works with our billing process, contact us.

If you have questions about insurance in general, or problems with a private insurance company, you may contact Florida's Office of Insurance Regulation, the Division of Consumer Services. If you have questions about COBRA coverage or self-insured employer plans, contact the local or regional office of the U.S. Department of Labor Employee Benefit Security Administration.

Please note: If it has been more than six weeks since your hospital stay and your insurance has not yet paid its share of the hospital bill, please contact your insurance provider to expedite payment. If your insurance plan does not pay, you may be liable for full payment of the bill.
